Cat deprived -what to do

Got a new, young, furry love in your life? This is the place for you to ask all of your questions - big or small! Just remember that you are receiving advice from other cat owners and lovers... not professionals. If you have a major problem, always seek the advice of a vet or behaviorist! Most important is to remember to have fun with your new fur baby.

The Baboo Kitty- has Spoken!

Firstly, room-mate situations, unless you both are on the same page in just about every way, not going to work. This sounds like something you would be happier out of.
the other thing is that you sound like a cat person! I wouldn't get a cat til you're well out of there, but you could always volunteer somewhere, many rescues and shelters are happy to have volunteers to come in and help with their cats!

We wish you luck. We think that your room mate would not be safe for you to have a cat with.

Wishing you purrs ahead!

Why not volunteer at the local shelter or rescue? thinking You'll get to play and care for cats and kittens and you avoid the whole roommate issues.

You could do short term fostering for a shelter or rescue and see how the roommate reacts to that thinking

We actually talked seriously about fostering cats early on as roommates (before the million excuses). But he didn't want to get attached and "stuck with a cat". I was asked to foster not that long ago by a volunteer... and the "attached and stuck" retort was given followed by newly invented allergies..

I am considering volunteering though (As I search online for a new place to live ..lol), I am in teacher's college and my schedule is busy with my placement coming up in a couple weeks I won't have much time to go out and volunteer.

I LOVE MY MOMMY

Well it has been the opinion of the Jakemeister that a younger cat is better. I loved it when momma brought in 3 babies for me to raise. Of course you arew talking about getting a 7 month old and then another kitty. It wouldn't be bad no matter which way you go. Your other problem is the roomie. I would recommend burying anyone not willing to open their home to a needy kitty up to their neck in an overfull litter box. Ooh did I say that? my bad. Well you get the Idea. My momma had a husband who didn't like anything with fur. When she got her first Malseetongue he told her that cat had to go. She said I'll have this cat longer than I'll have you. She Diivorced him and Mal went to the Bridge in Jan 1996 at the old age of 23. I never knew him but he is still loved and missed by my momma. Roomies can be changed. Happy cat searching. Just remember when we is little we iz nuttin but energy. Our large furmily makes that work. Good luck.

Just to clarify the roommate is just a roommate NOT my partner.

And our arrangement is temporary and the lease is up in May. Still sorely tempted to get a kitty...
